Replace Fire Alarm & Fire Suppression Bldg. 1206, Eglin AFB, FL

This project was a complete renovation of fire systems in 7,000 SF of a 13,000 SF building that was an occupied munitions laboratory. It included electrical upgrades with the addition of a 400A 3-phase power system for the pump house and conduit for the fire systems, and a new fire alarm system for the pump house, and it all had to be explosion proof. A new HVAC system with associated equipment and ductwork was installed in the pump house. Project also include re-pavement of areas in a 5,500 SF parking lot and driveway, and upgrades to the existing water and power utilities to support the new.

The fire suppression work involved demo of an entire existing fire suppression and fire alarm system, providing new water lines into the building by cutting concrete slab and 2′ thick walls, installing a 100ms response time Deluge fire suppression system, building and installing a new pump house adjacent to the existing building, new hydrants, new 300 gal pressurized tanks at 200 PSI, and a Pyrotech flame detection system.
